Pipe Conveyor Belts are used where bulk materials have to be conveyed along horizontal and vertical curves in restricted spaces. Conventional Conveyor Belt
Conventional conveyor belting has developed over the years and today operates at tensions as high as 1000 kN/m (or N/mm) width. Their construction can be full fabric (Cotton, N/N, EP), steel cable or steel matrix, a combination of the steel and fabric, or even a monoply fabric construction. Multiply carcass sections are shown in figure.
There is no scattering, leakage and dropping of materials. Because materials are wrapped up in pipe, this belt prevents cargo spills, scattering, dropping, Leakage, wetting and mixing with dust or foreign materials.It prevents deposit on belt from dropping. Forming return belt into pipe prevents dropping of materials attached to the carrying side. It is capable of transporting on curves. For curved and bending transportation line which usually needs a large space, it reduces layout space a great deal.The belt can be bent freely making transshipments unnecessary.The conveyor length becomes shorter. Since the pipe shape increases friction between material and inside of belt, angle of inclination can be made larger than conventional ones. Further, with addition of fins the angles can be made steep, enabling the conveyor length to be shorter, thereby lowering cost.Thereby it can lower cost.
